v5.1 Release Notes

Enhancements

Pro! Back Office

Single-Well Ordered List Item Type – Additional Authoring Support

Item authors can now preview Single-Well Ordered List items directly within the item preview window to verify formatting, without needing to save the item first. The preview uses section-specific configuration settings for width, height, X/Y start position, border color, and fill color, and fully supports the existing color-switching feature.

Authors can also view previous versions of Single-Well Ordered List items to support validation and workflow. The version window displays metadata on the left and the formatted item preview on the right, including the ordered answer key. Authors can use Show Differences to compare versions in a track-changes interface, and Revert to restore content from a selected version.

Additionally, authorized users can hover over a master code to view a small preview of Single-Well Ordered List items. These items are now included in Poolbook HTML reports and exports.

Customized Dictionary Support

Single Select Multiple Choice, Likert, and Passage editors now support both global and user dictionaries. User dictionaries are saved to the server and travel with the author, regardless of the device they use. Global dictionaries can be expanded easily—clients may provide a list of approved words to be added. Authors can add words to their dictionary by right-clicking on the mispelled word and choosing “Add to dictionary”. Spellchecking is case-sensitive.

Publishing – Strasz Test! Driver – Unused Parameters have been Removed

The options to set session hours and disallow restart have been removed from the Examination General page. Analogous parameters are defined within the Examination Layout and were not being utilized in this location.

Reference Listing – Items Displayed in Master Code Order

When selecting the Items icon from the Reference Listing screen, the Item Search results screen displays all items associated with that reference. The items are now displayed in Master Code order, providing a more organized and consistent view.

Item Search Results – Default Sort Order

The default sort order for search results now displays items with the most recent Created Date at the top (descending order). You no longer need to navigate to the last page to find the latest items, making it faster and easier to locate your most recent work.

Pro! Remote Item Authoring and Review

Browser-Based Translation Support

Authors and reviewers can leverage their browser’s built-in translation functionality to work in their native language or in the same language as the test question they are authoring. This ensures that the authoring and review interface always aligns with the user and content.

References Component – Configurable Display and Enhanced Editing

The References component supports flexible configuration and improved usability in the new UX design. Administrators can specify whether to display the References section and whether references are optional or required. If required references are missing during submission, a clear error message will appear in the submission errors area. The References section is collapsed by default, and all existing behavior for reference notes and approved references is preserved.

The reference editor supports plain text, optional attachments, dynamic resizing, and immediate saving of changes. Approved references display citation information and adhere to required/optional field settings. All references are presented in a single list, consistent with the back-office format. Users can edit or delete references for editable items, ensuring accurate and controlled management of references.

Item Submitted Count

The Submitted Count on the Remote Item Writing Listing page now reflects the total number of items the item writer has submitted, regardless of the item’s current or future status. Subsequent status changes no longer impact this count.

Pro! API

Get Examination Forms

This endpoint retrieves a collection of Examination Forms that were delivered within the Windows associated with the specified date. The specified date is used to identify the corresponding testing windows. All Examination Forms associated with these testing windows are returned.

If no testing windows are found for the given date, the endpoint returns an empty list. Similarly, if testing windows are found but no Examination Forms reference them, an empty list is returned.

This endpoint supports OData queries for enhanced filtering and retrieval.

See the Swagger documentation for API details.
