A significant number of enhancements in this release were driven directly by client requests. Bulk operations on passage-associated items, inline role management for project members, and coordinated user deletion across Account Provisioning and User Management further increase the productivity of high-frequency tasks.

About

This release simplifies role permissions, introduces a new XML publishing format, and expands Poolbook XML export to support media, passages, and MathML. Passages and Poolbook names are now section-scoped. UI refinements and tooltip enhancements improve everyday workflows, and Activity and Event logging now captures print and export actions. Remote Item Authoring and Review expands passage-based project support to include Multiple Selection Multiple Choice items. Secondary Reviewers gain post-review read-only access, and the Round Summary page adds a configurable page size control. Users can now self-manage their profiles and manually sign out.

User management has been fully redesigned, enabling administrators to more easily create and manage users and roles, quickly find users through search and filtering, update key account details, and perform bulk actions.

This release also adds support for a new Single-Well Ordered List item type for Athena Pearson Browser Edition exams. The Pro! v4.7 release delivers a series of impactful enhancements focused on improving usability, flexibility, and accessibility across the item development and review workflow. Key updates include a redesigned item authoring interface for Single Selection, Likert, and Passage items, featuring dropdown navigation and improved save performance through separate handling of metadata and content. Accessibility is enhanced through a new color-switching preview option that supports ADA-compliant color combinations directly within the authoring interface. Additionally, project managers now have the flexibility to close review projects with active items, supported by detailed warnings and activity logs.

Super Users benefit from expanded capabilities, including the ability to roll back item submissions, create items under any passage, and assign existing items to any passage within a project, regardless of original ownership. Authors and reviewers can now preview entire passage sets, view answer keys, and edit their own comments inline. Super Users can edit all comments, with audit trails reflecting the updates.

This release introduces examination cloning, allowing exam development specialists to duplicate exams quickly while maintaining settings and layout configurations. Item assignments have been improved, enabling users to assign all items to a single Primary Reviewer in one step. The Data and Comments tabs have been replaced with more flexible popups, allowing easier access to modification history, statistical data, and comments while viewing item content. Item-level printing enhancements now support including an item’s rationale, and API logging improvements provide better control by separating audit logs from debug trace logs.
